projects at la Grande Mardelle

At our first wwoof farm, called La Grande Mardelle, we worked mainly one two projects.
The first was a website which you can find at http://www.lagrandemardelle.webs.com/gitedefrance/, http://www.lagrandemardelle.webs.com/, and http://www.lagrandemardelle.webs.com/wwooffrance/.  If you're looking for a place to stay in Normandy, this gîte might serve you well.  It is really quite nice.
The second was a terrarium for one lucky turtle.  This took an almost laughable amount of time, but before you write it off as a waste of time, know that it's for a cute little endangered turtle who will probably live another 95 years.  I like how it turned out and it was a fun job.   First we built a stone wall and then we figured out how to put a roof on it so that it would meet various requirements like: keeping out dogs and cats, creating different climactic zones, creating a place for hibernation etc.  Our hostess actually has to have a vet come check that it is a suitable home.   Ah France :)
