Reni is really good at Carcassonne. We played so much in Lausanne 7 years ago – it was great to play again.
Jack’s plan of earning bricks and taking them to port was foiled by a long long string where no 6’s were rolled. His frustration was great fun.
The food was also fun. Some of the particularly Viennese or Austrian things were homemade sachertorte and sweet dumplings, blood sausage, weiner schnitzel, and some good sauer kraut and cabbage salads (with caraway seeds, I learned).
always a joy to watch you two compete. love you both, but I like beating jack too
ReplyDeleteJack and Cari have created bad ju-ju for themselves. Jack gets me upset, knowing I will gesticulate wildly. Then he reads my cards and he has a set of signals by which he communicates what he as read to Cari. Just a warning to others: never let Jack and Cari play as partners.
ReplyDeleteGOAL: learn bridge
You guys are so lucky. This is actually a test. I don't understand why my icon picture of B.J. Raji does not appear on my posts anymore. Hopefully it will this time.
ReplyDeleteB.J. is my hero. When I get down to his weight, I will focus on getting down to Donald Driver's weight next
Hello? Is B.J. showing up?

There's about a 50% chance of rolling at least one 6 in 5 turns, but about a 5% chance of not rolling a 6 in 20 turns.
ReplyDeleteMoral: Never play board games with stochastic modelers.
Bekilted Hippy - this clears up any lingering doubts I might have had about your identity LOL. The next question is, can stochastic modelers enjoy any games other than chess?
ReplyDeletepackerbacker - take up the missing BJ icon with your son...
ReplyDeleteContrary to popular rumor, B.J. is not my son. We are just build the same.
ReplyDeleteCari - perhaps I should have commented on Jack's beard to make it really clear :)
ReplyDeleteThoroughly enjoying your blog, but it is causing very itchy feet.
K & I are taking notes and making plans for a kids-finished-college trip. Of course we'll have a much more limited budget than you two by then.
We will have to have you over for some friendly games of Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne when you are back home. Those are some of Jason's favorite games!
