My friend from Vienna introduced us to the deliciousness of the famous Viennese chocolate cake called a Sachertorte.
When she and I were in Switzerland on exchange together she made one for every birthday and when we visited her recently, she and her son made not one, but two cakes, for us!
This is what an expert Sachertorte looks like.
She gave me her recipe and I just made my first attempt at baking one. I substituted raspberry jam for the traditional apricot, and messed up a few other steps, but the result was still tasty enough.
