My apologies for this laundry list post, but I’ve done some fabulous hiking in the past six months and I want to keep track of it. This is a follow-up to hiking report 1.

- 4 miles with clear weather, nice temperature, good view, lots of people and dogs

6 April 2013 Cougar Mountain Regional Wildlife Preserve

- 5 miles with on and off rain, not many people, very pretty, fairly flat compared to most other hikes. Many well marked trails but a map would help next time.

14 April 2013 Muir Woods, Mount Tamalpais State Park, CA
- 7 miles through redwood trees on a beautiful day
- had lunch at Van Wyck meadow and saw a lizard
- a nice loop with 1,200 ft. of elevation gain

- 7 miles along steep slopes down to the ocean
- very windy out-and-back with amazing views

22 May 2013 Tree Spring Trail up Sandia Peak, NM
- 6.5 miles, 1830 feet of elevation, up to 10,290 feet above sea level
- the last half mile straight up the ski slope was killer

- 5.6 miles, following cairns rather than a trail

- 3.1 miles including ladders

17 June 2013 Cub Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, CO
- Cub Lake from Moraine Park Campground
- 6 miles, with 550 feet of elevation up to 8620 feet

18 June 2013 Glacier Gorge and Sprague Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, CO
- We used the Bear Lake road shuttle to make a 5.5 mile loop, starting from Glacier Gorge TH parking area to Shuttle Bus parking area, passing by Sprague Lake and Glacier Basin Campground.

19 June 2013 Mills Lake and Blake Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, CO
- 10.5 miles starting from a parking spot down the road from the Glacier Gorge trailhead, past Alberta Falls, and Mills Lake, on to Black Lake.
- 1,400 ft. gained up to 10,620 ft.
- snow on the trail for the last ¾ of a mile.
- altitude wasn’t too bad, although I had a headache that started halfway down the descent.

20 June 2013 Medicine Bow Curve, Rocky Mountain National Park, CO
- We walked about 1 mile with a Ranger, who explained what we saw. We lucked out and saw a few ptarmigan (color changing, non migrating alpine birds).
- It was just past the Alpine Visitor center which is at 11,800 feet
