Cari’s week in Boston

I spent the last week in Boston for work.  I welcomed the chance to catch up with a few good friends and former co-workers.

Also we recently learned that my sister and brother-in-law will be moving there soon, so I have to keep my comments about the weather upbeat!  It snowed and …. it was pretty.

On Friday I went to a high school robotics competition that a former co-worker was involved in.  In a two month period high school kids built robots that drove around and accurately threw frisbees.  Some of them even climbed up the rungs of these metal pyramids.  I’m not sure that the me of high school would have joined, given the chance, but the me of today probably would.

Some truculent Canada geese occupied an intersection near Fenway, commemorating the famous Make Way For Ducklings story.  I watched as a pedestrian and a bicyclist spent about five minutes trying to heard them out of the street.  It’s too bad some of the dogs from last weekend’s show, who were trained in duck herding, weren’t there to help.

I was happy for the chance to catch up with old friends and to see my former Little Sister (and her little brother) who has grown up a lot in the year and a half we’ve been gone.
