is something we’ve not been very good at. Yesterday (Saturday) morning bright and early, Cari and I were at the Colosseum, ready to see it, along with the Palatine Hill/Roman Forum- but they were mysteriously closed. No explanation other than a tiny paper sign behind the locked gates explaining that they were currently closed for security reasons. We couldn’t figure out what was going on, because there was certainly no lack of tourists. I was disappointed, but we used our RomaPass ticket on the Appian way/Baths of Caracella instead- and the baths were amazing. Then we did afternoon in the Vatican, as planned.
Sunday morning, I googled to try and figure out why the ruins were closed, and I think it might be this-

Tomorrow we’re off to Perugia/Gubbio and the next wwoof farm.

We learned about Occupy Wall Street when we rode through it on our rainy Friday night bicycle tour around Manhattan. Here we were on Wall Street getting briefed by our tour guide. I'm going to have another go at "The Name of the Rose".
