The thing about reentering the US in Hawaii is that there’s such a strong local identity that people must see us as just another pair of tourists. Tourists we may be, but as far as we are concerned, we are home!
Our home just happens to be an enormous (and wonderful) country!
Oh and our budget hotel in Waikiki is about five times bigger than our rooms in Singapore and Hong Kong and it has windows… and a yellow pages!
