technology at work

Jack and I are both experiencing technological leaps at work.    Large language models are making AI more and more powerful and alarming.   This is mainstream news now: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/01/technology/ai-google-chatbot-engineer-quits-hinton.html?smid=url-share

About two weeks ago I started using GitHub Copilot which is an AI programming partner.   It learns from a user's own programming style and makes suggestions based on what it sees that you are trying to do or what you describe in a comment, spitting out quick code snippets that are amazingly accurate.

When architects design a remodel, they have to first accurately model the existing house and ideally environmental things like trees, as well.   Jack's firm has some kind of laser thing they can set up that makes a point could that they can then incorporate into the Revit model.    You can see the level of detail in these screen shots he took yesterday.
