My older sister just finished her PhD in biophysics. At the same time, my brother-in-law finished his MD/PhD. By leaps and bounds, this makes them the most educated people in our family. We’re so excited for them as they move to Boston for the next steps in their careers.

Jack and I commemorated this event by writing hasty limericks together. What could be better?
There once was a couple from Houston
Who thought their brains needed a boostin’.
They moved up to Lubbock
(“Oh no!” said their stomach)
There, seven years they’ve been a a roostin’.
They found good programs at Texas Tech
and studied cells smaller than a speck.
Proteins or cancer:
they know the answer
We think that both are as smart as heck.
They are finally leaving Texas,
but not for Seattle (which wrecks us).
They are going to Boston,
which they will get lost in.
It’s a biomedical nexus.
So congrats to Becky and Jason!
Your accomplishments are amazin’!
We wish to join the crowd
and tell you we’re so proud
That your hopes and dreams you are a chasin’.
