On Saturday we went up to the Columbia tower observation deck. The views were spectacular and we enjoyed seeing our current neighborhood and our future neighborhood (the Central District).
north, including the Space Needle and my new hat
south, including my workplace, the south tunnel site and the Smith tower
our neighborhood, watched over by my reflection ghost
two architectural models
east including Harborview, the Central District, lake Washington and Bellevue
It’s been a very long time since either of us went up the Space Needle, but we both found the Columbia Tower view to be much more impressive. At $9 a person it is less than half the price of the Space needle, plus we’re more interested in the south-downtown views. The Columbia Tower view is about 310 degrees and the part you can’t see is north northeast.
Here’s a good summary of Seattle viewpoints (with out-of-date-prices). http://www.seattlepi.com/visitorsguide/top-seattle-attractions/article/Best-Views-1317016.php
